Why Greenlytes recommends it

One CREE light, with the beam and arm style matched to the installation.

This system is built around a simple idea: use a broad Flood beam when the flag is the subject, then switch to Spot mode when a narrower, longer-reaching beam is useful. The arm choice lets you match that light to the mounting geometry.

1

Choose Flexible or Fixed

The Flexible arm gives you more positioning freedom after mounting. The Fixed arm keeps a rigid, simpler mounting profile.

2

Long throw when you need it

Spot mode narrows the beam for more concentrated light, with a stated maximum throw of up to 80 feet.

3

Made for common flagpole sizes

The included mounting hardware fits flagpoles up to 6 inches in diameter, with 20-, 30- and 50-foot poles among the intended uses.

4

Part of a modular lighting platform

The Ultra Series can be configured around additional LED lights, a larger solar panel or remote panel placement when the site needs it.

Both arm configurations use the same CREE Spot/Flood lighting approach. The 80-foot figure applies to Spot mode, while Flood mode is the setting intended for illuminating the flag.

01 Which arm style should I choose?

Choose the Flexible arm when you want more freedom to position the light head after mounting. Choose the Fixed arm when a rigid, simpler mounting profile suits the installation.

Both versions use the same CREE Spot/Flood lighting approach, so the arm choice is primarily about mounting and aiming geometry.

Greenlytes insight Choose the arm for the installation, not for a different beam specification.
02 Should I use Spot or Flood mode for a flag?

Use Flood mode for flag illumination. It spreads the beam more broadly across the flag instead of concentrating the light into a narrow point.

Spot mode is useful when you need a narrower, longer-reaching beam. The stated maximum throw of up to 80 feet applies to Spot mode.

Greenlytes insight If you are comparing beam shapes, see our floodlight or spotlight guide .
03 How high a flagpole can this light be used with?

The Ultra Series is positioned for 20-, 30- and 50-foot flagpoles. The included mounting hardware fits poles up to 6 inches in diameter.

Check both pole height and pole diameter before ordering so the mounting arrangement matches the actual installation.

04 What flag sizes can it illuminate?

The system is intended for common 3×5, 4×6 and 5×10 flags, as well as larger flags when the installation and aiming are suitable.

Beam placement matters because a flag moves. Aim the Flood beam so the useful illuminated area covers the flag's normal movement.

05 Does changing Flex or Fixed change the light output?

The meaningful difference between the two Greenlytes variants is the arm configuration. Choose Flexible or Fixed according to how you want the light mounted and positioned.

Both variants retain the same Spot/Flood beam concept and are presented at the same Greenlytes price on this page.

06 Can the solar panel be mounted remotely?

The Ultra Series belongs to a modular lighting family that can support remote solar-panel mounting, larger panel configurations and additional LED lights.

Confirm the accessories required for your installation before relying on a remote-panel layout.

07 Can this light be used for something other than a flagpole?

Yes. Spot mode can also be useful when you want a concentrated, longer-reaching beam on a tree, sign or another defined outdoor subject.

If your main goal is general landscape accent lighting rather than a flagpole, compare it with the products in our Solar Spot Lights category before choosing.

08 When should I choose a multi-head flagpole light instead?

Choose a multi-head system when your priority is lighting a moving flag from several directions at once rather than using one directional CREE light from a single mounting position.

Compare the available designs in our Solar Flagpole Lights category if you are deciding between directional and multi-head coverage.

Greenlytes insight One directional light and a 360° multi-head system solve different installation problems. Choose by coverage pattern first.
